NIGERIAN ARMY ARREST NOTORIOUS BOKO HARAM INSURGENT YAWI MODU ALONG DAMBOA-WAJIROKO ROAD

The Nigerian Army has arrested a notorious Boko Haram insurgent, Yawi Modu, along Damboa-Wajiroko road, Borno State.


The suspect, a high-profile Boko Haram member on a wanted list was arrested by troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).


In a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the troops raided the terrorists’ Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) materials hub in Damboa and Gashua Local Government Areas of Borno and Yobe States, respectively, during their operations.


The troops also burst a urea fertilizer syndicate known for supplying terrorists with IED materials in a market believed to be the hub for IED materials for Boko Haram and ISWAP. A total of 281 (50Kg) bags of Urea were recovered from the warehouses in the market and two notorious distributors were also arrested.
