over 150 terrorists surrender in one week as Operation Hadin Kai records sharp rise
More than 150 terrorist commanders, fighters and affiliates have surrendered to troops of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, representing a reported 202 percent increase from the previous week.
The latest figure marks a significant rise from the over 50 surrenders recorded in the preceding week.
The military attributed the development to sustained intelligence-led operations, increased pressure on terrorist groups and coordinated kinetic and non-kinetic measures aimed at weakening their networks and encouraging fighters to abandon terrorism.
Some of those who surrendered also handed over weapons and ammunition, further highlighting the impact of ongoing military operations on terrorist formations.
The military said its approach combines intelligence operations, strategic communication, civil-military engagement and other measures to disrupt terrorist activities and support networks.
All surrendering individuals are being profiled and processed in line with established procedures and applicable laws.
The Military High Command commended troops for their resilience and urged them to sustain pressure on terrorist groups across the North-East.
