POLICE APPREHEND INEC IMPOSTOR IN CROSS RIVER STATE
The operatives of Cross River State Police Command apprehended a middle-aged man identified as Gabriel Agabi, who allegedly impersonated an INEC official with the possession of 17 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices not programmed for the ward where he was arrested.
The alleged impostor (Mr. Agabi) who dressed in INEC reflective jacket, was arrested at the collation centre in Okpoma, Yala LGA in Cross River after he had claimed to be a lecturer in the philosophy department of the University of Calabar.
However, Mr. Agabi impersonated the INEC collation officer in Yache ward and Yala LGA of the state.
Hence, he has been transferred to Ogoja Area Command for further investigation by the CID unit following his confession.
