POLICE APPREHEND TEENAGER FOR STEALING
A 19-year-old teenager Ibrahim Yaya has been brought before the Ota Magistrates Court, Ogun state, on Tuesday for ripping off some valuables worth N4 million, with a television inclusive.
Mr. Yaya was charged with burglary and theft after he was handed over to the police by the vigilance group that apprehended him.
Information available indicates that Yaya was apprehended on December 17, 2022, at about 0700hour at No 40, Adeniran Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun.
The defendant unlawfully invaded the complainant’s (Mr. Bolarinde Jonathan) house and ransacked one flat-screen TV, generator’s parts, including other valuables worth N4 million.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor declared the offenses violated sections 411(1)(2) and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, nonetheless, claimed not to be guilty of the charge. And therefore he was granted a bail of N100,000.
The case has been adjourned until January 26 for further hearing.
