POLICE ARREST 5 SUSPECTS IN CONNECTION WITH PLATEAU ATTACK, RECOVER WEAPONS
The operatives of Plateau State Police Command on 17th May 2023 apprehended five suspects in connection with the attack on Bwai, Mangu LGA, Plateau State.
The information available indicates that the Police personnel and troops of the OPSH led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, were mobilized to the area.
In the course of the struggle with the attackers, Cpl. Abdullahi Umar, serving with Sector VIII of OPSH sustained bullet wounds and currently responding to treatment.
Also, Two Hilux vans belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were vandalized by bullets from the attackers.
Consequently, the Security operatives recovered one AK 47 rifle, a revolver pistol, and cartridges from the suspects.
Meanwhile, armed security men have been deployed to the area to forestall any further breakdown of law and order. Hence, there is now calmness in the nuk and craning of Mangu Local Government.
