POLICE ARREST CHILD-TRAFFICKING KINGPIN, RESCUE 12 CHILDREN
The Nigeria Police, Anambra command, have arrested Nkechi Odinye, a suspected leader of a child trafficking ring in the State and rescued 12 children believed to have been kidnapped.
Police Operatives apprehended Nkechi Odinye, 55, who had been on the run for the past three years because she was evading arrest following credible Intelligence, on Monday, August 31, the Anambra Police revealed.

The Anambra State Police spokesperson, SP Haruna said the officers found twelve children, comprising of eight boys and four girls believed to have been abducted from different parts of the country in Mrs Odinye's home.
The suspect was tracked following a breakthrough on a child trafficking case in October 2019, when three women were apprehended for stealing children at Nkpor market/Tarzan junction in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, the Force added.

Investigations revealed that a woman identified as Hauwa Musa stole two children in Gombe and brought them to Anambra.
SP Musa revealed that the parents of the children were reunited with their children.
At the same time, the suspects were held in police custody where they confessed that they usually steal children and bring to Nkechi Odinye, who sells the kids in Anambra at the rate of 200,000 to 400,000 depending on their age and gender.
