Police Arrest Four Suspects Over Threats of Kidnapping, Violence in Anambra’s Ihiala Community

The Anambra State Police Command has reported notable improvements in security within the Ihiala area, attributing the progress to increased community cooperation and effective intelligence-led operations.

In a statement released on April 11, 2025, the command confirmed the arrest of four suspects linked to threats of kidnapping, abduction, violence, and cyberstalking in Ihiala. The suspects—Chimezie Ezebuo, Chinaza Ndimani, Chinecherem Okafor, and Nzube Azubuike, all male residents of Okohia, Ihiala—were apprehended at approximately 2:53 p.m. following a coordinated operation by the Joint Security Force.

During the arrest, operatives recovered mobile phones and SIM cards allegedly used by the suspects to issue threats to innocent residents, actions which had previously triggered panic in the community and undermined security efforts.

According to police authorities, all four suspects confessed to the crimes and are currently in custody undergoing further interrogation.

The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order, warning that individuals who engage in acts that incite fear or disrupt public peace will be held accountable.
