POLICE NAB TWO TRANSBORDER INDIAN HEMP DEALERS

Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested two notorious Indian hemp dealers with 25 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.


The suspects were arrested while attempting to smuggle the prohibited items to the Niger Republic.

The suspects were arrested on December 18,2022, at about 0900hrs, by police patrol team, attached to Kafur Division, while on routine patrol along Kafur – Dabai Road, intercepted their motor vehicle, Golf III, white in colour, driven by one Sani Ibrahim (male) of Kofar Barau Quarters, Daura LGA of Katsina state alongside one Magaji Mamman,(male)of Dutsi LGA of Katsina state, in possession of twenty-five (25) carefully parcelled loaves of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp (Cannabis-stiva).

The suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and stated that they specialized in trans-border Indian Hemp trafficking, conveying it from Zaria for onward delivery to one Sambo at Maradi, Niger Republic.
