SCHOOLS, BUSINESSES SHUT DOWN AS HERDSMEN ATTACK OGUN VILLAGES, TWO KILLED
Schools and businesses in Owode-Ketu and Ijoun villages in Ogun State have been shut down following an attack by killer herdsmen.
Eons Intelligence gathered that herdsmen on Thursday attacked two villagers on their way to the farm around 5 am on the Owode Ketu-Ijoun-Tata Road in the Yewa North of Ogun State. The assailants killed the two victims identified as Isiaka Apesin and Oguntosin Adebayo, then proceeded to the villages and began shooting indiscriminately.
Sources say the herdsmen ran into the bush after the incident leaving the villagers in fear which has made the residents wary of opening schools, hospitals and businesses.
Rev. Sanya Fabuyi, the Baale of Owode-Ketu, confirmed the incident to Punch stating that the assailants came with sophisticated weapons and bulletproof vests.

Reacting to violent attacks in Owode-Ketu, Eggua, Igan-Alade and Igbogila areas, Governor Dapo Abiodun on Thursday said his administration would leave no stone unturned in curtailing the activities of brigands in the state.
“Ogun cannot be defined by crimes and criminalities. Ogun does not have any haven – safe or unsafe – for killers, bandits, insurgents or cultists. We shall spare no action, including ruthless ones, to bring peace, public order into every hamlet, town and city in the Gateway State,” the governor said.
