EFCC Raids NAHCON Headquarters Over Alleged N90bn Fraud

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday raided the headquarters of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in Abuja over allegations of fraud and fund misappropriation.

The operation, which began at around 11 a.m., led to the detention of NAHCON’s spokesperson, Fatimah Usara, along with three other unidentified staff members. The EFCC operatives reportedly arrived with a valid arrest warrant, signaling the gravity of the investigation.

The raid is linked to an ongoing probe into the alleged mismanagement of a N90 billion intervention fund meant for the 2024 Hajj.

A source at the EFCC headquarters confirmed the development, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations against NAHCON.

This comes after a previous raid by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) at the same agency, further intensifying scrutiny over NAHCON’s financial dealings.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, when contacted, declined to comment immediately but assured that further details on the arrests and investigation would be provided in due course.
