SOLDIERS INVADE FOUR BOKO HARAM CAMPS IN SAMBISA FOREST, KILL SEVERAL TERRORISTS AND RECOVER AMMUNITION

The Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Multinational Joint Task force (MNJTF) on Tuesday invaded four Boko Haram/ISWAP hideouts in Sambisa forest, Borno State, killing several insurgents and recovering ammunition in the process.

This comes less than 24 hours after Nigerian troops killed eight Boko Haram terrorists in separate encounters in Yobe and Borno States, and also recovered several arms and ammunition in the process.

This successful operation came hours after President Buhari announced new Military Service Chiefs in the country.

Eons Intelligence gathered that the troops led by Brig-Gen Waidi Shaibu, Brigade commander of 21 Special Armoured Brigade, invaded and killed several Boko Haram terrorists in Maiyanki, Darulsallam, Bula Kurege and Izza.

It was learnt that the camps served as refuge and training grounds for Boko Haram fighters and positioned criminal elements in preparation for ambush attacks on the Nigerian Army.

The troops, who engaged the terrorists in ground and aerial strikes in their camps, killed a number of the insurgents' unit commanders and high value fighters during the encounter.

They also recovered dozens of equipment from the terrorists while food stuffs, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) making materials and clothings were destroyed.

Last week Friday, Eons Intelligence reported that the Nigerian Army destroyed a Boko Haram/ISWAP enclave in Borno, killing five and recovering several ammunition in the process.

Also, on 18th January 2021, several Boko Haram insurgents were killed as troops of Operation Lafiya Dole engaged them in Frigi village, Borno.
