Troops arrest five suspected terrorist logistics suppliers, intercept medical and agrochemical supplies in Borno
Troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with Hybrid Forces, have disrupted a suspected terrorist logistics network in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, arresting five suspected suppliers and recovering a large consignment of medical and other supplies.
The operation was carried out at about 1:30 p.m. on 20 July 2026 during a routine security patrol, when troops intercepted the suspects while transporting 491 cartons of Albe Stark 2.5% dewormer and 100 cartons of animal multivitamin injections without the required waybill or supporting documents.
A search of the vehicles led to the discovery of additional concealed medical supplies, including 32 cartons of Diclofenac Sodium Injection, 58 cartons of Benzylpenicillin Sodium BP, six cartons of Dexamethasone Injection and 51 cartons of Metronidazole Intravenous Infusion.
Other items recovered from the suspects include 30 units of 80-inch LG plasma televisions, 152 empty Bagco sacks and seven mobile phones.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment was allegedly destined for a vendor in N’Djamena, Chad Republic, while some of the concealed medical supplies were reportedly intended to be transferred into another truck near the Nigeria–Chad border in an attempt to evade security checks.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the 24 Task Force Brigade for further investigation.
The military described the operation as another major success in its ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics and support networks across the North East, noting that disrupting supply chains limits the ability of terrorist groups to sustain their operations.
Operation HADIN KAI urged pharmaceutical distributors, transporters, healthcare providers, humanitarian organisations and other stakeholders to ensure proper documentation and coordination with relevant authorities when moving bulk medical, pharmaceutical and agrochemical consignments within the theatre of operations.
The public has also been encouraged to remain vigilant and provide timely, credible information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the North East.
