TROOPS NEUTRALIZE 17 TERRORISTS, NAB 3 IN BORNO
Reports indicate that 17 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists were neutralized and three others nabbed on Sunday by Troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Damasak, Mobbar LGA of Borno State.
This was made known by the Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, North East Joint Task Force, Major Gen. Christopher Musa on Monday in Maiduguri.
According to the theatre Commander during an interview with NAN, the unrelenting Troops engaged the group of terrorists headlong at about 2.00am during an attack at a Forward Operational Base situated around the Walada exit gate.
"The insurgents met with serious resistance and superior firepower of the gallant troops who engaged them in a heavy gun battle that lasted for hours, forcing the insurgents to withdraw.

"The troops, supported by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai mounted a hot pursuit and closed up with the terrorists".
Damasak, the main town of the Mobbar LGA, is located near the confluence of the Yobe River and Komadugu Gana River, adjoining the border with Niger 34 km from Difa in Niger and 3km between Damasak and the border with Niger.
Items recovered include motorcycles and other assorted weapons.

Musa encouraged the Troops to be more decisive to ensure the total eradication of the terrorists as to sustain the success records.
