Troops Neutralize Bandits, Recover 1,000 Rustled Cattle in Taraba
Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), in collaboration with Operation SAFE HAVEN, have neutralized two armed bandits and recovered approximately 1,000 rustled cattle in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation followed credible intelligence about heavily armed bandits mounted on about 30 motorcycles who had crossed from Plateau State and attacked a Fulani settlement near Jebjeb Village. The criminals rustled a large number of cattle and fled toward Daji Madam Forest in Plateau State.
In a swift and coordinated response, troops from both operations mobilized towards Komodoro Village, engaging the bandits in a firefight. Two of the assailants were neutralized, and the rustled cattle were recovered and safely returned to Jebjeb community.
Efforts are ongoing to verify the identities of the cattle owners for proper restitution.
Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and coordination, pledging continued pressure on criminal elements and calling on residents to support security agencies with credible information.
