UNKNOWN GUNMEN KILL SECURITY PERSONNEL IN IKWO LGA OF EBONYI
Reports indicate that unknown gunmen have killed a member of the Ebubeagu Security Network (ESN) in Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State.
The victim, Ifeanyi Orogbo, who was 32, was said to be killed and partially burnt by his attackers.
Sources say he was killed in his beer parlour shop along Eke Achara-Agubia Road.
Confirming the incident, the Ebonyi State Police PRO, Loveth Adah, said; "The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ikwo Police Division said “at about 3:00 a.m. that he received a phone call from one source at Igweledeoha Amagu Ikwo that one Ebubeagu security outfit, Ifeanyi Orogbo, 32-year-old who is indigenous to Igweledeoha was murdered and partially burnt by unknown people in his beer parlour shop along Eke Achara-Agubia Road.
“The DPO said as he received the information, he quickly mobilised a team of police operatives to the area but the culprits had deserted the area. He said the corpse has been taken to a general hospital for preservation and autopsy.”
She however noted that two persons suspected to be involved in the murder of the security personnel have been arrested.
