ARMED ROBBERS KILL OGUN GOV OFFICE FINANCE DIRECTOR, CART AWAY HUGE SUMS OF MONEY
Gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers on Wednesday 29 November shot dead the Director of Finance and Accounts, attached to the Ogun State Governor’s office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi.
The information available indicates that Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi was shot near Kuto bridge in Abeokuta while returning from Fidelity Bank branch with an undisclosed sum of money he redrew in preparation for Thursday's budget presentation by the governor.
The attackers, numbering about five forcefully stopped the victim, opened fire on him and others and escaped with the money.
However, he and other injured victims were quickly rushed to the State General Hospital at Ijaiye, where he was later confirmed dead.
