Fresh Conflict Erupts in Adamawa: Multiple Deaths, Widespread Destruction Reported

Tragedy struck in Adamawa State, Nigeria, as a clash between herders and farmers resulted in multiple deaths. The conflict began days ago, claiming the lives of one farmer and one herdsman, but escalated early Sunday morning when herders attacked homes in Kukta, Waltandi district, Song Local Government Area, killing five people.

The authorities swiftly responded by deploying security forces to restore order and apprehend the perpetrators. According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson for the state police command, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the clash, ensuring those responsible will face justice.

Unfortunately, conflicts over grazing land are common during pre-harvest seasons due to scarcity, highlighting the need for urgent intervention. This incident is part of a larger pattern of violence in Adamawa State, which has been affected by communal clashes and Boko Haram attacks .
