US Senator Threatens Sanctions on ICC Allies Over Netanyahu Warrants"
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has issued a stern warning, threatening sanctions against allied nations such as Canada, Britain, Germany, and France if they enforce International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The ICC issued these warrants over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Speaking during a Fox News interview on Friday, Graham stated, “To any ally—Canada, Britain, Germany, France—if you try to help the ICC, we’re going to sanction you.” He further emphasized, “If you enforce the arrest warrant against Bibi or Gallant, I will push for sanctions on your nation. You’ll have to choose between the rogue ICC and America.”
Graham’s comments underscore a strong opposition to the ICC's actions, framing them as incompatible with U.S. alliances.
The warrants follow the Israeli military’s offensive in Gaza, launched in response to a Hamas cross-border attack in October, which has led to significant casualties. Reports indicate over 44,000 deaths, mostly women and children, and more than 104,000 injuries in Gaza. Additionally, Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah have caused over 3,600 deaths, 15,300 injuries, and the displacement of more than a million people, according to Lebanese health authorities. Global outrage over these events has prompted a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
