SOLDIERS RAID BOKO HARAM/ISWAP FIGHTERS ENCLAVES IN BORNO, KILL FIVE, CAPTURE ARMS AND AMMUNITION

Men of the Nigerian Army in another successful encounter have killed five Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters at Abbagajiri in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, North Eastern part of the country.


The operation was conducted on 20th January 2021 by troops of Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO a subsidiary Operation of Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed to the North East to tackle insecurity.



The gallant soldiers after identifying some enclaves used by the terrorists, engaged them with superior firepower resulting in the killing of 5 of the criminals, while others escaped with gunshots wounds.

One Pulemyot Kalashnikova Tankovyy(PKT) Gun, 3 AK 47 Rifles, 4 extra AK 47 Rifle magazines and a Vulcanizing Machine were recovered from the terrorists.


Other items captured and destroyed include food stuffs, some Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making materials including the criminals' hideouts and clothings among others. 



Eons Intelligence earlier reported that the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole on the same day killed several armed fighters linked to Boko Haram/Islamic States for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists who laid a desperate ambush on vulnerable commuters between a location given as Gajiram and Monguno.

The troops also captured five Boko Haram/ISWAP gun trucks.



The Nigerian Army has been on the top of its game as it has launched several successful attacks on Boko Haram fighters, killed many of them and destroyed their weapons in the North East especially in Borno State.


On 18th January 2021, many Boko Haram fighters were killed as troops of Operation Lafiya Dole engaged them in Frigi village, Borno.


Similarly on 16th January,2021 the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) killed several Boko Haram terrorists in Marte, Borno State, and also destroyed seven gun trucks in the process.



Also on 14th January 2021, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) killed scores of Boko Haram Insurgents, destroyed their training camp, alongside a suspected ammunition depot at Nuwar in the Bama area of Borno State.


On 18th May 2020, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole killed an unconfirmed number of Boko Haram and the Islamic States West African Province (ISWAP) Terrorists in an air attack at Dapchi, Yobe State.
