BANDITS KILL TWO PERSONS IN GIWA LGA OF KADUNA

Reports indicate that bandits on Sunday attacked Garawa village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two residents in the process.

Confirming the incident on Monday, Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, said a certain Alhaji Saadu was killed by the assailants.

In another encounter in Giwa Local Government, bandits attacked Angwan Dan Yaya village and killed one Alhaji Suleiman Audu.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai commiserates with the families of the victims and vowed that security agencies would nab the fleeing attackers.

These attacks on Giwa LGA come barely one week after bandits attacked Na'ikko village, killed 12 locals and set several houses ablaze. This attack forced a number of residents to flee the community to a Barkallahu village in Igabi Local Government Area for refuge.

There is palpable tension in Kaduna with the increased cases of insecurity in the State in recent months. Eons Intelligence reported that suspected Fulani herdsmen on Sunday night attacked Kurmin Bi community in Zangon Kataf LGA, killing two Christian Kataf youths and three cattle in the process.

Two weeks ago, bandits invaded the residence of a Professor in Zaria, abducted him and killed his son.

Also, on January 17, about 18 policemen were abducted by bandits while on patrol in the State.

It is imperative for authorities to address the menace of insecurity ravaging Kaduna before it escalates beyond tolerable levels.
