BORNO STATE GOVERNMENT BANS DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD AND NON-FOOD ITEMS IN RE-SETTLED COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE

The Borno State Government has banned all NGOs from distributing food items to re-settled communities across the State.

In a press statement signed by Governor Babagana Zulum, all food distribution would now be limited to IDP camps and IDPs in host communities for now.

The Governor directed that all new areas partners interested in distributing food and non-food items should first get clearance from the State Government before proceeding on such initiative.

Governor Zulum, who also directed the immediate closure of all IDP camps in Maiduguri, noted that the closure is to ‘empower people to build back their lives’.
