MOZAMBICAN GOVERNMENT DENIES MASS BEHEADINGS BY ISIL-LINKED ATTACKERS
The Mozambican Government has denied reports of mass beheadings by ISIL-linked attackers in the northern Cabo Delgado province.
Recall, Eons Intelligence, on Tuesday, November 10, reported that ISIL-linked assailants beheaded about 50 persons and abducted several women in a brutal attack in Northern Mozambique.
Valige Tauabo, the Governor of the gas-rich province; Cabo Delgado, said there were no recent killings in any district of the province, contrary to reports.
He revealed that the last known killings by the Islamic Jihadists took place on April 6.
Governor Tauabo said there had only been “incursions by evildoers” who were being pursued by the military.
Tauabo, who said the Government is concerned about the spread of armed violence in Cabo Delgado, noted that the United Nations has urged authorities to investigate the alleged beheadings.
