BREAKING: Bauchi State Governor begins Self isolation after meeting Infected Atiku's Son.
The Executive governor of Bauchi state, His Excellency, Bala Mohammed, says he met and shook hands with the son of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who was confirmed to be carrying the COVID-19 virus yesterday.
The Governor said in a statement by his SSA on media, Mukhtar Gidado, that he met and interacted with Atiku's son on an Aero Contractor's Aircraft very recently. He confirmed that the Governor has gone into self isolation in line with NCDC's directive.
The statement read in part, "this is to inform the general public that His Excellency, Bala Mohammed has gone into self isolation.
"This development is sequel to a report from the NCDC that the son of former VP of Nigeria was tested positive for the COVID-19 upon his return from an international trip through lagos"
"So far, the Governor has not exhibited any symptom of the disease but based on the recommendation of the NCDC, he will remain indoors to avoid the risk of spreading the disease. Currently, the Governor's blood sample have been taken and is undergoing clinical tests"
"Consequently the Governor has cancelled all his appointments with immediate effect and any inconveniences caused is highly regretted"
