CAMEROON TO HOLD FIRST REGIONAL ELECTIONS IN DECEMBER
President Paul Biya on Monday signed a decree authorising Cameroon's first regional elections.
The elections have been scheduled to hold on December 6 across the country's ten regions which include both the restive northwest and southwest provinces.
"Today, I signed a decree to convene the electoral colleges for the election of Regional Councillors," President Biya said in a statement on Twitter.

The December 6 regional elections is a move towards decentralisation of power as provided in the 1996 constitution.
Cameroonians are expected to elect 90 Councillors, who would preside over local issues.
