NIGERIAN ARMY KILL FIVE BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN BORNO, RECOVER AMMUNITION

The Nigerian Army has killed five Boko Haram terrorists in an operation in Borno State.


This comes barely one week after the Nigerian Army killed five Boko Haram terrorists in separate encounters in Garal and Bulankesa village.


Four terrorists were killed following credible intelligence on Boko Haram activities by troops of 222 Battalion in conjunction with elements of Borno State Civilian Joint Task Force.


It was gathered that the troops made contact and immediately engaged the assailants lurking in the area. During the encounter, one FN Rifle, one AK 47 Rifle, 2 FN Rifle magazines, and 4 AK 47 Rifle magazines were captured from the fleeing terrorists.

29 Rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 39 Rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 2 Motorcycles, Motorcycle repair tools and one Tecno phone were also recovered from the assailants.


Furthermore, during a clearance patrol to Yafa, Kirchinga and Shuwarin areas of Borno State, troops killed an additional terrorist while several others fled with gunshot wounds.


Recall, on Sunday, December 6, Governor Zulum of Borno State, while receiving Northern Elders at the Arewa Consultative Forum in Maiduguri, said that the security situation in the State has improved under the administration of President Buhari.
