BREAKING: OGUN POLICE TO FIRMLY ENFORCE CURFEW

The Ogun State Police Command has appealed to residents to adhere to the curfew imposed by the Federal Government, as the command and all other sister security agencies will be all out to enforce the order.

 

President Buhari ordered a nationwide curfew from 8 pm to 6 am as part of the measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus on April 27.

In a statement signed by the State's Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police said all human and vehicular movement would not be allowed during the curfew hours. 


"Any vehicle or motorcycle that found to be violating the curfew will be impounded, and the owner will be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the law," the police warned. 


DSP Oyeyemi urged members of the public to remain wherever they are once it is 8 pm and continue their movement by 6 am the following day or risk being arrested.


The police commended the patience and perseverance of the residents since the beginning of the lockdown order imposed on the state, adding that the residents should adhere to instructions during the curfew period.


The statement also hinted the public that the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson has directed area commanders, DPOs and tactical squads to be firm in enforcing the curfew in accordance with the rules of engagement.
