BREAKING: ONGOING IMN PROTEST IN ABUJA
Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) are currently holding a protest at Nicon Junction in Abuja.
The protest which reportedly started around 11:20 am on Wednesday, November 18, has about 40 demonstrators in attendance.
Meanwhile, the Police command in Abuja has deployed its men to the protest arena to prevent unpredicted violence.
This is happening following the decision of a Kaduna high court to try the embattled leader of the IMN, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky today.

IMN leader Ibrahim el-Zakzaky, a prominent Shi'a cleric, was arrested in December 2015 when soldiers raided his home in Zaria (Kaduna state), killing a number of IMN followers in the process.
The Nigerian Federal High Court ordered Zakzaky's release in December 2016, but he has remained in detention.
IMN protests occur on a regular basis, especially in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano states, despite a ban on the group's activities.
