Donald Trump has emerged the first President in US history to be impeached twice.
He is to face trial for inciting a mob to riot at the Capitol. If found guilty, he might be barred from holding public office again.
Trump was impeached by Congress on Wednesday after several hours of voting.
10 out of the 288 votes cast in favour of Trump's impeachment were from Republicans.
Donald Trump's impeachment comes 7 days before he is due to leave office following his defeat at the polls in November last year to President-Elect Joe Biden.
