COVID-19: FOUR MORE PATIENTS DISCHARGED, 25 NEW CASES CONFIRMED IN EDO
Edo State Government has announced the discharge of four more COVID-19 patients after being tested negative for the virus.
Godwin Obaseki, Edo State Governor disclosed this in a statement on, Friday, May 22 while giving update on COVID-19.
Obaseki noted that the State also recorded 25 new cases of COVID-19 and one death.
He commended the efforts and passion of health workers fighting against the spread of Coronavirus in the State.
He urged residents of the State to adhere to all safety measures imposed by the Federal Government and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as they will help curtail the spread of COVID-19.
According to the Commissioner for Health, Dr Patrick Okundia, Edo has about 1241 suspected cases of COVID-19 and 144 patients have been confirmed to be positive to the virus
Okundia said the State has carried out 1274 sample tests which 907 came out negative.
Okundia noted that the confirmation of new cases was as a result of testing and screening done by the State Government.
He urged residents to observe the stay at home advisory, social distancing guidelines, usage of alcohol based hand sanitizer and other precautionary measures.
