Troops Arrest Fake Policemen, Seize Cannabis-Laden Hilux Vehicles in Taraba

Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with the NDLEA, have arrested two fake policemen with two Hilux vehicles loaded with cannabis at Takum Junction, Wukari LGA, Taraba State.

The suspects, identified as 71-year-old ex-police ASP Monday George and 41-year-old Ezeugo Destiny Uche, were intercepted while disguising as mobile policemen. Investigations revealed the vehicles were loaded with cannabis in Akure, Ondo State, and headed for Adamawa before being stopped. The second Hilux was abandoned by its occupants, who fled upon sighting troops.

A total of 1,134 blocks of cannabis were recovered, with the suspects and exhibits handed over to NDLEA in Wukari. Commander 6 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, praised the troops’ synergy with NDLEA and assured the public of continued efforts to rid Taraba of criminals while urging citizens to provide credible information to aid operations.
