KOGI STATE POLICE PARADES 56 SUSPECTS FOR LOOTING AND VANDALISING PROPERTIES IN LOKOJA

The Kogi State Police Command has paraded 56 suspects who engaged in the looting and vandalisation of properties worth several millions of naira in Lokoja between last Sunday and Monday.


Recall that Hoodlums, between Sunday night and Monday morning, invaded several warehouses and looted items.


The State’s Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Ede, whilst parading the suspects at the command headquarters, in Lokoja, said he was following the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu.


Eons Intelligence reported on Saturday, October 24, that the IGP ordered all police chiefs across the country to restore order and normalcy to the country.

The CP noted that consequent upon the reports of looting of some Government facilities across Lokoja metropolis, he deployed security operatives to the scene to arrest the hoodlums.


“I am pleased to inform you that the ongoing operation which has been carried out with dedication and passion led to the arrest of 56 suspected looters of Agricultural Development Project, Essential Drugs warehouse and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Offices in Lokoja and recoveries of some looted items.


“18 suspected looters were arrested in connection with the looting and vandalisation of items from stores of the Ministry of Agriculture and entire premises of Agricultural Development Project (ADP) Located at Felele, Lokoja.


“Nine suspected looters are arrested in connection with the breaking and looting of the warehouse of Essential Drug, properties of Kogi state government.


The police boss also stated that a Peugeot 407, Reg. N0 Lagos APP 897 AZ containing different types of assorted drugs and medical equipment stolen from the Government’s Essential drugs warehouse was recovered from the suspects.
