COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: STAY AT HOME, DO NOT ENDANGER YOUR LIVES - PASTOR ADEBOYE

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged Nigerians to obey the lockdown order by President Muhammadu Buhari as part of measures put in place to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Recall that Lagos State, Ogun, and the FCT has been on lockdown since 11 pm, March 30th, following the President's directive that all residents of the states excluding essential workers should stay home and practice social distancing.

As the new coronavirus infections spread to other states within the country, 28 other governors have also enforced lockdown orders in their states to curb the further spread of the virus.

Adeboye advised citizens during an online sermon broadcast to obey the stay at home order and not endanger their lives.

The cleric, while preaching on the topic 'Power' taken from Acts 1:4-8,

said, "There are categories of power. There is political power. Ecclesiastes 8:4 says where the word of a king is, there is power. You put it in the modern language, where the word of the President is, there is power."

"If you don't believe that, just check what is happening now. The President sits in his house and makes a decree or pronouncement, everybody stays at home, and if you love yourself, stay at home."

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Saturday, April 25th, Nigeria recorded 87 new cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1182, 222 discharged, and 35 deaths.
