He said NYSC orientation camps may be reopened in the next phase of the lockdown relaxation.

Recall, the orientation camps across the country were temporarily closed down in March as one of the measures put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus among corps members.

Aliyu said the NYSC has been advised to begin preparations for the possible reopening of camps across the country.

“We have advised NYSC to start planning ahead of resumption in future phases, but not within this current phase of the response,” he said.

Aliyu assured corp members and the workers of the NYSC that the COVID-19 task force will work with them to design protocols that will enable smooth and healthy reopening of the camps.

Aliyu also noted that the Federal Government has begun plans to reopen its international airspace.

The Federal Government had also announced the extension of the lockdown relaxation by another four weeks, Eons Intelligence reports.

This was announced by Boss Mustapha, COVID-19 PTF Chairman, during the Task Force briefing in Abuja.

The extension is the third of the second phase.
