DELTA POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, RECOVER FIREARMS

On June 14, 2024, at about 2:30 PM, the operatives of Delta State Police Command apprehended a notorious cultist and suspected mastermind of an intended cult clash at a hotel (name withheld) in Ughelli. The suspect, Felix Egbe, aged 37, from Oteri Community in Ughelli North LGA, Delta State, is a member of the Eiye confraternity and a former Youth Secretary of Oteri Community. Upon interrogation, the suspect led the operatives to his residence where a Barretta pistol was recovered. Investigation is ongoing.


Similarly, on June 18, 2024, around 1:20 AM, the Aladja police out-station received a distress call about suspected armed robbers carrying out a robbery in Aladja community. The district officer (D/O) and members of the community mobilized to the scene and arrested the suspects Lucky Victor, aged 20, and Godbless Oghenevegba, aged 20, at Igwere quarters, Aladja. They were found with a locally made gun, cartridges, a knife, and a suspected stolen phone. The suspects are in custody, and investigation is ongoing.


Additionally, on June 13, 2024, at around 2:00 PM, acting on credible information about an outlet for the distribution of illicit hard drugs in Asaba, operatives from the CP Monitoring unit responded and arrested two individuals, Emeka Ozumu, aged 49, and Patrick Otukam, aged 30. Thirteen bottles of Codeine, twenty-three sachets of Tramadol, and other hard drugs were recovered from them. The investigation is ongoing.
