
Enugu Police Arrest Seven for Armed Robbery, Recover Firearms and Stolen Items
Detectives from the Enugu State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) have arrested seven suspects for armed robbery and conspiracy, leading to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and stolen valuables.
The arrests followed credible intelligence and a report received at the Unity Police Division, alleging that unknown armed robbers had invaded residences in Ibagwa-Nike, Enugu, on February 3 and February 6, 2025, robbing victims of their belongings.
Upon transferring the case, detectives from the Anti-Robbery (D9) Section launched an intelligence-led investigation, which resulted in the arrest of the following suspects:
Chetachukwu Okolo (32 years old)
Ogwuche Chukwuemeka, a.k.a. “Shenkes” (22 years old)
Ifeanyi Okoye (29 years old)
Sopuruchukwu Odenigbo, a.k.a. “Jadon” (28 years old)
Onyebuchi Ukwu (20 years old)
Chukwuebuka Chukwu, a.k.a. “Kobo” (25 years old)
Mmaduabuchi Ukeh (25 years old)
Recovered Items
During the operation, police recovered:
One pump-action gun
Two locally made pistols
Two live cartridges
Two machetes
SIM cards, identity cards, clothing, supplement drugs, and other stolen valuables, which have been identified by their owners.
The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc (+), has emphasized the importance of public cooperation in crime reduction, urging residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of security efforts in the state.
