The Federal Government has debunked reports that it is planning to pay repented Boko Haram insurgents #150,000 every month.
Reports had surfaced online on Thursday, November 12, indicating that the Federal Government is set to commence payment of #150,000 every month to repented Boko Haram insurgents.
The reports were debunked late on Thursday, November 12, in a statement by the Personal Assistant to President Buhari on media, Bashir Ahmad, via his official Twitter handle.
“FAKE NEWS ALERT: The Federal Government is NOT planning to start paying repented Boko Haram members N150,000 monthly, the story is baseless and should be regarded as the usual fake news. When you see it here or on WhatsApp, ask the poster to provide a credible source of the story,” Ahmad tweeted.
