FIRS TO ADOPT NIN DATABASE FOR TAX COLLECTION

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is making arrangements to adopt the National Identification Number database to ensure all taxable persons in the country declare and pay their taxes.

Muhammad Nami, the FIRS Chairman, on Thursday in Kaduna said the agency is working with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to achieve this.

Nami also disclosed that the FIRS would soon adopt electronic taxation (e-Tax) to help limit tax evasion and leakages.
