Five Suspected Kidnappers Killed as CP-SAT Operatives Raid Hideouts, Recover Weapons in Delta State

Operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) have killed five suspected kidnappers during a raid on criminal hideouts between Issele-Asagba and Otulu in Delta State. The operation, which took place on April 21, 2025, also led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles and 150 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

Acting on intelligence regarding the activities of a notorious kidnap gang led by one Bellow Abubakar, the operatives first stormed a hideout in Agu-Amawbia Forest, Anambra State. During the raid, one AK-47 rifle and 132 rounds of live ammunition were recovered.

Extending their investigation, the operatives proceeded to another hideout located in a forest between Issele-Asagba and Otulu. Upon arrival, they were ambushed by the suspects. A fierce gun battle ensued, during which the operatives, anticipating resistance, responded with superior firepower.

Unable to withstand the assault, the suspects fled in different directions, many sustaining gunshot wounds. Five of the suspects, including Bellow Abubakar, were captured but later confirmed dead at the hospital due to the severity of their injuries. Two additional AK-47 rifles and 18 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered from the scene.

A manhunt is currently ongoing to track down the fleeing injured suspects.
