Global Congratulations*: World Leaders Hail Trump's Return to White House
World leaders are rallying behind former U.S. President Donald Trump following his surprising return to the White House, with many calling it “history’s greatest comeback.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among the first to congratulate him, writing on social media platform X, “Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and reaffirms the strong alliance between Israel and the U.S.”
Trump’s resurgence has captured global attention, with both allies and adversaries acknowledging the impact of his return. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed readiness to collaborate once again, saying on X, “Ready to work together as we did for four years. With conviction, respect, and ambition. For peace and prosperity.”
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte echoed support, stating his eagerness to work with Trump “to advance peace through strength,” as Trump nears the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency. “We face global challenges, from an aggressive Russia to terrorism and strategic competition with China,” Rutte remarked, emphasizing NATO’s role in deterring aggression and supporting collective security.
Rutte also praised Trump’s first-term efforts to encourage NATO allies to increase defense spending, noting that nearly two-thirds of NATO’s 32 members are expected to meet the organization’s defense spending target this year.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports Trump is only three electoral votes away from winning, with leads in key battleground states.
