GOVERNMENT ARRESTS PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR PRESIDENT BUHARI'S LEAKED SPEECH- FEMI ADESINA
The person who leaked President Muhammadu Buhari's speech has been arrested, Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, said.
Adesina disclosed this in a piece titled 'Enemies of the state'.
On Monday, 27th President Muhammadu Buhari addressed Nigerians on the state of the nation, particularly regarding the spread of Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown order imposed on FCT, Lagos and Ogun state.
However, a copy of the President's draft speech was already circulating on social media hours before Buhari's speech.
Though the document had some typographical errors, it showed striking resemblance with the one later read by the President.
Adesina reiterated that the offender is already answering for his evil action. He stressed that the offender does not wish the country well at all.
Adesina stated further;
"I looked at the circulating document, and within one minute, I knew that it is a rogue copy.
"If the person that leaked the unedited draft of the broadcast had access to more sensitive national documents, he would do the same thing."
If he cottons on information that could sell Nigeria to the enemy, he would gladly do it. Thou art amid foes, watch and pray.
"Igbo people speak of the proverbial lizard that ruined his own mother's funeral. That was what the hidden hostile hand did. But he forgot that in these days of technology, almost everything leaves a trail. Before the end of that evening, computer evidence had narrowed down the suspect, and he was already answering for his evil action."
President Muhammadu Buhari addressed Nigerians on Monday, during which he extended the lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun by another 14 days, which ends on May 4.
