GUNMEN ABDUCT, KILL POLICE OFFICER IN IMO
Gunmen on 8th April 2023 abducted an Inspector of police, identified as Austin Ukegbu, at his residence in Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State.
The information available indicates that Ukegbu, an inspector in charge of the Special Weapons and Tactics, traveled to celebrate the Easter festival with his family in his village where he was kidnapped by armed men riding in a Lexus jeep at about 2300hrs on 8th April 2023.

Inspector Augustine Ukegbu who was serving at Orji police divisional headquarters was later found dead in a bush along Mbutu in the Aboh Mbaise LGA.
However, the Jeep used to kidnap the deceased was abandoned along Mbutu Road in Aboh Mbaise and has been confiscated by the police.
Meanwhile, Police have launched an intensive investigation to fish out the culprits and bring them to justice.
