GUNMEN IN MILITARY ATTIRE ATTACK POLICE HEADQUARTERS IN UMUAHIA, KILL POLICEMAN
Reports indicate that Gunmen in Military attire on Monday attacked the Police Headquarters in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, killing one policeman.
The incident occurred around 1pm on Monday December 13.
Sources say the assailants, dressed in Military camouflage, stormed the police station located at 28 Police Mobile Force beside the State Command Headquarters, Bende Road Umuahia, shooting sporadically.
The assailants met heavy resistance from security operatives at the police station, who engaged them in a gun battle. A security personnel identified as Inspector Friday Adama was killed during the shootout.
