GUNMEN KIDNAP TARABA LAWMAKER
Unknown gunmen have abducted Bashir Mohammed, the lawmaker representing Nguroje constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly.
Reports say Mohammed was kidnapped from his residence behind the SSS office area of Jalingo, the State capital at about 1. 30 am on Wednesday, December 9 by heavily armed gunmen.
Eyewitness account reveals that the gunmen who came in numbers overpowered the vigilantes guarding the house and went straight to his sleeping room then whisked him away.

The source said that none of the family members was hurt, adding that the kidnappers forced the lawmaker into one of the two vehicles used by them.
As at the time of filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer, David Misal is yet to confirm the abduction.
The incident made it the second time a member of the state House of Assembly would be kidnapped in recent years.
Hosea Ibi, a lawmaker representing Takum 1 constituency, was kidnapped on December 30, 2017 in Takum.
Ibi was kidnapped when he went home for Christmas celebration. Eyewitnesses said he was whisked away at gunpoint by his abductors, who were on a motorcycle.
After weeks of search and payment of ransom, his corpse was found at Kwari along the Takum – Kashimbilla road.
