GUNMEN KILL POLICE INSPECTOR, EXPATRIATE, THREE OTHERS IN EDO QUARRY ATTACK

A deadly attack on a quarry company in Ihievbe-Ogben, Owan East Local Government Area, has left multiple casualties. Gunmen ambushed the facility, killing a police inspector, an expatriate, and three workers.

According to sources, the police inspector and a police sergeant were orderlies to the expatriate. The inspector died on the spot, while the expatriate succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The sergeant was shot in the leg and is receiving treatment.

A female staff member, reportedly an accountant, remains missing, fueling fears of kidnapping.

The Edo State Police Command confirmed the attack, reporting three fatalities. However, local sources dispute this, claiming a higher death toll.

The incident occurred when gunmen laid an ambush for the expatriate on his way back to base after work.

An investigation is underway, with the police working closely with the military to apprehend the suspects.
