INEC DECLARES PROF. CHARLES SOLUDO WINNER OF ANAMBRA GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Prof. Charles Soludo winner of the 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra.


Recall that INEC had declared the election inconclusive following a delay at Ihiala LGA which could not hold on Saturday for insecurity reasons.


The election eventually took place on Tuesday November 8 and the Commission's Returning Officer (RO), Prof. Florence Obi announced a 112,229 votes to defeat PDP's flag bearer, Valentine Ozigbo, who amassed 53,807 votes.


The RO revealed that Prof. Soludo had won in 19 out of 21 LGAs in the State including; Dunukofia, Awka South, Oyi, Anaocha, Ayamelum, Anambra East, Idemili South and Onitsha South, Njikoka, Orumba South, Onitsha North, Idemili North, Ekwusigo, Aguata, and Nnewi South, Orumba North and Ihiala Local Government Areas.
