BANDITS ATTACK GARU VILLAGE IN KADUNA, KILL TWO

Armed bandits in the early hours of Wednesday attacked Garu village in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state killing two persons identified as Aliyu Daiyabu and Safiyanu Muhammad.


Similarly, two hunters were shot when armed bandits attacked hunters in a forest located in Chikun local government area.


Hunters who escaped from the bandits attack backed by soldiers mobilised to the area and dislodged the criminal's camp. One of the wounded hunters, Isuwa Tanko was found dead during the clearance operation while the other, Yohanna Yakubu, was found alive.


Following the attack on hunters in Chikun local government area, troops of Operation Thunder Strike have destroyed several bandit camps in Napayako and Dajin Wuya.


The troops have also sustained fighting patrols in Gwagwada general area of Chikun local government area which connects with the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

Kaduna State Government, Nasir El-Rufai has sent condolences to the families of the victims killed by the bandit attacks, while also wishing the injured hunter a quick recovery.


Governor El-Rufai also appreciated the resilience of the Nigerian Military in tackling the bandits in the state.
