NIGERIAN ARMY KILL SEVERAL BOKO HARAM/ISWAP TERRORISTS IN LAKE CHAD, TUMBUS, DESTROY GUN TRUCKS AND RECOVER AMMUNITION
The Nigerian Army on Saturday killed several Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists operating in Lake Chad and Tumbus, destroying their gun trucks and recovering ammunition in the process.
The successful operation was conducted by troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, who was on patrol along Lake Chad. After clearing Daban Massara and Ali Sherifti villages, they began the second phase of their operation along the Kukawa - Monguno road and spotted the insurgents.
The troops, who were aided by the Air Task Team of Operation Lafiya Dole, engaged the terrorists with heavy gunfire, killed several, and destroyed their gun trucks.
However, 1 officer and 3 gallant soldiers were killed during the encounter while those who sustained injuries are currently receiving medical attention at 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital in Maimalari Cantonment.
