INEC SUSPENDS VOTER REGISTRATION IN ENUGU LG AS GUNMEN ATTACK OFFICIALS
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in a local government in Enugu State following an attack on officials.
Report indicates the officials of the commission were attacked by gunmen at about 2:30pm on Wednesday 13 July 2022 at a community primary school in Umuozzi Ward 19 of Igboeze North Local Government Area of the state.
Meanwhile, no casualties were reported, 748 ballot boxes, 240 voting cubicles, office furniture and equipment were destroyed, while staff involved in the attack lost personal belongings.
