INSECURITY: SENATE SUMMONS DEFENCE MINISTER, RENEW CALLS FOR REMOVAL OF SERVICE CHIEFS
The Senate, on Tuesday, summoned the Minister of Defence Bashir Salihi Magashi as well as heads of other security agencies over the unending insecurity situation in the country even as the lawmakers intensify calls for the removal of Service Chiefs.
The resolution followed a motion moved by Senator Bello Mandiya from Katsina State on the recent abduction of over 300 secondary students from an all-boys secondary school in Kankara by bandits.
Senator Sani Musa who is representing the Niger East Senatorial District of Niger State seconded the motion saying: “there is a need for this chamber to draw the attention of Mr President that enough is enough, these Service Chiefs should go.
“I am being very honest and talking from the heart. Enough of this thing.

I wish the National Assembly will take drastic action on this. We have been appropriating; where are these funds going to?”
Senate members in various contributions to the motion passed a vote of no confidence in the various heads of security agencies while expressing frustration that President Buhari has ignored previous resolutions passed by the Senate on the issue of insecurity in the country.
