KANO POLICE COMMAND RESCUES MAN LOCKED UP IN A ROOM FOR SEVEN YEARS BY FATHER AND STEPMOTHER
The Kano State Police Command has rescued a 30-year old man identified as Ahmad Aminu who was locked up in a room by his father, Aminu Farawa, and his stepmother for seven years.
This comes two days after the Kebbi police command rescued an 11-year-old boy who was chained and kept in an animal stall for two years allegedly by his father and his step wives.
Kano State Police Command spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed the incident.
Aliyu, who hails from Farawa Babban Layi in Mariri quarters of Kumbotso local government area in Kano, was rescued by the police and human rights groups on Thursday evening, August 13th, 2020.

The victim was said to have been chained and caged after he was accused of drug abuse by his parents.
According to reports, some persons residing in the area reportedly alerted the police and human rights activists to Aliyu’s plight.
The Command Spokesperson said the police are already investigating the matter and that the victim’s parents have also been invited by for questioning.

The victim, Aminu Ahmad, is currently receiving treatment at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.
The Kano State Police Commissioner, Habu Sani has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department for discreet investigations.
